Boosting it the other way around
At First Class Fitness, we naturally work according to the RIVM guidelines. And you can visit us again after January 14th. In the meantime, we are offering tips on how you can still stay active. A sort of booster plan, but different.

Exercise as a booster for your health

We are living in strange and uncertain times. Naturally, we support all the advice from the RIVM. The booster shot can slow down the omikron variant, and that offers perspective. A healthy lifestyle can also help make you more resilient by strengthening your immune system. Our advice is therefore to move as much as you can. In this blog, 10 tips on how to put that into practice daily.

10 tips to move more

  1. Walk as much as you can, even if it's just short distances. A walk around the block, to the supermarket, the park, etc. Taking more steps inside the house counts too.
  2. Mail your Christmas cards one by one. Now that is an extension of your walks.
  3. Always take the stairs an extra time when you use them. If you live on the ground floor, take the stairs to your floor as much as possible.
  4. Park your car as far as possible from your destination. You'll end up walking quite a bit extra.
  5. Tackle as many household chores as you can yourself.
  6. If you have a sedentary job, stand up more often during work.
  7. Always get your own coffee/tea at work
  8. When choosing to move more, prioritize what you enjoy doing. Is that dancing, walking, or playing?
  9. Schedule moments of exercise at fixed times in your calendar. This way, it comes back every week as a reminder and becomes part of your routine.
  10. Finally, discuss with your personal trainer how exercise can become a part of your lifestyle.
